Leslie NielsenWhen Forbidden Planet was released in 1956, it suddenly became the mother of all sci-fi flicks. Often described as 'the Star Wars of its time' by modern-day critics, the movie did for Leslie Nielsen what Star Wars did for Harrison Ford... it created a heartthrob that would send pulses racing in women all over the world. Nowadays, it's hard to picture the Airplane and Naked Gun superstar as an international sex symbol (although Pamela Anderson seems pretty keen in the picture above), but the half-Welsh actor was actually quite fanciable in his hey-day. Looking like a cross between Russell Crowe and Tom Cruise, young Leslie had a sexy smile, dark silky hair and a smouldering broodiness that easily made our grandmother's swoon with desire. And, let's face it, anyone that could make our granny randy is definitely all right with us.

Sexiest moment:
Saving Altaira (Anne Francis) from a tiger without even breaking a sweat. A true gentleman!
