It tracks the goings on of people too terrified to stay in their own homes - strange noises in the nights, dark figures standing over them and unprecedented accidents. Can leading psychic Mia Dolan, paranormal investigator Mark Webb and London University academic Dr Chris French help?

Episode 1: The Plymouth Girls

Antonia, Donna and Leanne have recently moved into a converted pub in Plymouth. The property has a chequered history of smuggling and ghosts. The girls claim that they have experienced something paranormal from day one. They say that child-sized fingerprints have appeared on a beam too high to reach, figures have been seen and strange distorted pictures of Antonia's four year old daughter have appeared on her mobile phone. Mia claims that she contacted the ghost of a young woman called Elizabeth who lost her lover in an accident at sea.

Episode 2: Beacon Radio

Jon, Andy and Julia all work at Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton. The radio station is based in a Victorian property named Normanhurst House which is said to have once been an orphanage. They claim that many members of staff have either heard or seen the ghosts of children laughing and playing in and around the building. Many have seen disturbing dark figures, once causing Andy to flee the building in terror whilst working there alone at night. Mia believes that the property is haunted by the ghost of a man called Frederick, wrongly accused of a crime involving a missing child.

Episode 3: Devlin Family

Four generations of the Devlin family have lived in their Woodhall Spa home. During World War II the property was used as a billet for the RAF and letters dating back to 1940's have been found hidden under the floorboards. Since moving into the house the family claim to have experienced paranormal activity, including strange dark shadows on the staircases and in the corners of rooms, as well as the noise of WWII planes, soldiers' voices and footsteps in the dead of night. Mia claims to have uncovered a vortex or doorway, linking this world and the next.

Episode 4: Beckwith Family

Leesa and Mike Beckwith share their Bury home with their two young sons Callum and Conor. They claim that the ghosts of two old women appeared to their son Callum and they regularly see sinister shadowy figures, hear children playing, and smell tobacco smoke and perfume. Mia claims that she contacted the spirit of a man called Ned, who was unable to rest until he'd avenged his murder.

Episode 5: Perkiss Family

The Perkiss family have lived in their 1930's Portsmouth home for 25 years. Mum Marie is convinced that they have a poltergeist and is desperate to clear the house of this unwanted intruder. The family claim to be harassed by shadowy figures and strange smells. Even as a child Stuart believed that his dead great-grandmother used to appear and speak to him. Mia says she confronted two spirits, one good and the other a sinister entity.

Episode 6: The Stevens Family

Three young flatmates Charlie, James and Maria from North London claim their home is haunted. Curious about what they claim was evidence of the paranormal they held a séance after which they believe the supernatural activity escalated. They report seeing shadows, orbs and Charlie claims to have been poked in the back and still bears the scars today. Mia claims she actually contacted the spirit of a young 1950's gang member called Steve.

Episode 7: Coalville

Theresa and her two daughters Vicki and Keyleigh live in a 1970's property in Coalville. The two girls are so terrified of their bedroom that they cannot sleep in there alone. Keyleigh says that she has seen the ghost of a Victorian girl waving and smiling at her in the room. Their mother Theresa was terrified when the bath mysteriously filled itself up, waking her in the middle of the night. Mia claims to have contacted the ghost of a young woman called Sarah who was desperate to find her sister.

Episode 8: The Jones Family

Chris and Andy live and work at The White Horse pub in Ironbridge which they claim is haunted. Chris's son, Kris, is so terrified by the property that he refuses to live there. Much of the activity takes place after closing time when the pub is quiet. They complain of chains rattling in the cellar, footsteps, shadowy figures and orbs. Mia claims that she spoke to the ghost of a smuggler who committed suicide inside the building by hanging himself.
